    Don't miss the opportunity to see two of Ipswich’s oldest musical institutions – Ipswich Orpheus Chorale and Amberley Brass – along with Jam Pact, one of the newest players on the local music scene, join forces with Camerata Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra to present an evening of combined British music ranging from the 16th Century to the 2000s.

    Ipswich Orpheus Chorale

    The Ipswich Orpheus Chorale Inc was founded by George Hogg OAM in 1969 and is a premier community choir with members from Ipswich and surrounding areas.  The Chorale has performed The Ipswich Orpheus Chorale has, on many occasions, been awarded “Champion Choir” at the Queensland Eisteddfod. Throughout its rich 50 year history, the Chorale has performed many memorable shows including Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady, Oklahoma, South Pacific, Les Miserable, and the list goes on.  The Best of British Concert will be no exception and presents a new opportunity for the Chorale to collaborate with such high quality professional musical groups to bring a unique performance as part of the new Ipswich Spark Festival.  

    Amberley Brass

    Amberley Brass is a modern brass band proudly based in Ipswich. Based at RAAF Amberley, the band is a mix of serving volunteer Air Force members, Defence contractors, retired Air Force, Army and Navy personnel, spouses and dependents of serving members as well as civilian members from the local community.

    Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra

    Camerata is a company in residence at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC).

    Camerata was founded in 1987 by acclaimed string educator Elizabeth Morgan AM, as an idealistic ensemble of emerging artists which she then formed into a professional chamber orchestra in 2005.

    Performing without a conductor, the Artistic Associates and their guest artists proudly take full ownership of the music to form a thriving, refreshing and acclaimed voice within the Australian arts landscape.
